https://marine.breguet.com Creativity, innovation and impeccable aesthetics are once again the keynotes of the prestigious models unveiled by Breguet at Baselworld. Loyal to its history, the House honours its founder’s broad range of competencies that proved of ample benefit to watchmaking as well as to navigation and astronomy. Following in the wake of this unique heritage, the House of Breguet now launches a worldwide exclusive model named the Marine Équation Marchante 5887. This “Grande Complication” marks the start of a new era for the contemporary Marine collection.
Jeff Kingston visits the guilloche dial workshop at Breguet in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland. Dial making is one of watchmaking greatest specialties in the history of watchmaking and guilloche dials are a specialty within that specialty. To watch it being practiced, is to take yourself back 200 years in time, because the methods and the machines being used have their routes back that far. It was Abraham Louis Breguet himself and his workshops in Paris two centuries ago, who introduced guilloche dials to watches. The guilloche dial room at Breguet has been described as a manufacture inside the manufacture. The machines are as manual as it gets. All of the work is done by hand. Enjoy this video and learn more about the making of guilloche dials.
Okay, maybe it isn't that special but whatever. I hope that everyone else is doing something with their summers instead of sitting around all day waiting for the next school year to begin. All of the pictures shown are in the order they were taken in. Anyway the song used is El Lagarto, an OC Remix song by Evil Horde. You can check it out on YouTube or head over to www.ocremix.org
This is my Custom 1989 Bowen Marine 22fter, its been fully restored and updated by myself and my dad...Its powered by a ETEC 250 HO... The hull has a aggressively deep vee which is idle for the seas we have to face here and with the ETEC power she flies but is still great on gas consumption... My wife and i were just cruising around in the harbour waiting on my old man to join us with his Custom 28' Rabco, before heading to California Bank for some deep-line fishing... It was about 6:30 am that morning and she was cruising @ around 45knots
